THE UNINVITED has a hell of a twist ending where all the clues are laid out before you while the two sisters lead you through this tale.  This film is a remake of the Korean film, A TALE OF TWO SISTERS.

Anna returns home after a stay in a mental hospital (following the death of her mom).  She is reuninted with her sister Alex and begins to wonder about her Dad's new girlfriend (her mom's former nurse).   Does the girlfriend have something planned for the two sister and what is hiding in her past?  Also Anna is visited by the ghost of her mother.   THE UNINVITED uses narrative trickery to put the viewer off guard and lays clues in front of you while the ending shows those clues in a different light.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

UNLOCKING THE UNINVITED is a featurette where cast, the directors, and producers explore the twists and changes they did to make THE UNINVITED.  Don’t watch it until you have seen the film.   The deleted scenes and alternate ending don’t add much.

FINAL ANALYSIS:  THE UNIVITED is creepy with a hell of a twist ending.  Still it makes me wonder if A TALE OF TWO SISTERS is better (one of the few films released through Tartan that I have never seen).
