THE UNBORN deals with a young college woman, Casey Beldon (Odette Yustman), who discovers she had a twin brother who died in the womb.  She's having drea,ms and what appears to be her unborn brother is starting to take over insects and the local four old kid.   Casey finds her life in danger as she must seek the help of Rabbi Sendak (Gary Oldman who makes any role fantastic) to fight what is a demon that is trying to be born into this world.

Writer/ Director David S. Goyer takes a stab at horror and thE supernatural again with his third directorial effort.  It has some good things and some flaws.  It is like he is more suited to writing more than directing his own work.  I did find THE UNBORN entertaining except I wonder what happened to her Dad while she was breaking all the mirrors in the house.  Odette Yustman is sexy as we see her behind several times in the film and she does dress sexy.   Gary Oldman is the type of actor who can probably read the phone book and still come out good whether the film is good or crap.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
the only extras are a few deleted scenes that some could have remained in the film since it is short anyway.  I can see some were cut for pacing.  Too bad no making-of featurette or audio commentary for THE UNBORN DVD.

FINAL ANALYSIS:  TEH UNBORN is a good horror movie rental despite it not being anything fantastic.  yet it isn't horrible and not as bad as some of the stuff that is released directly to DVD (or shown on SyFy).
