The Sci-Fi channel cancelled STARGATE SG-1 late into season 10's production which meant that the production team didn't have time to wrap up the Ori storyline. The last epsidoe of the series was a lame episode to end the series on. However, MGM agreed to make two direct to DVD STARGATE films. The first of them is STARGATE: THE ARK OF TRUTH which wraps up the Ori storyline as best as it could in 100 minutes. It has plenty of action and story while not going too deep into character development. STARGATE: THE ARK OF TRUTH is an entertaining wrap-up to the Ori storyline, but I wish they had more time to wrap up the Ori storyline. The SG-1 team alone with an I.O. operative (they can't trust) board the Odyseey and go through the Ori supergate to the Ori galaxy. The CG effects are up to usual Starge SG-1 standards while the cinematography takes us to new locations neevr filmed for the series.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
Robert C. Cooper (director/producer, writer), actor Chris Judge, and director of photography Peter Woeste are featured on the audio commentary for the film.

STARGATE SG-1: THE ROAD TAKEN is a nine minute recap of the Ori storyline which can be played with the film or alone.

THE ARK OF TRUTH: STARGATE AT COMIC-CON is an entertaining Q&A as fans ask the cast and crew questions (Beau Bridges and Michael Shanks aren't there). Chris Judge tries to get Michael Shanks on the phone only to find out he's in the bathroom. Some info is revealed about on-location filming for the next STARGATE film aka STAGATE: CONTINUUM.

UNCOVERING THE ARK OF TRUTH goes beind-the-scenes of how the film came to be, the making of it, special effects, and the music. Worth watching by any SG-1 fan.

FINAL ANALYSIS: STARGATE: THE ARK OF TRUTH isn't perfect, but I hope it leads to many more direct to DVD films beyond the next one.
