PUNISHER: WAR ZONE starts out promising only to the have the script let it down. The action is well shot (and directed by female director Lexi Alexander) and edited. Ray Stevenson is great as the Punisher and so is the guy who is Jigsaw. JUlie Benz is great looking as a brunette. The other downsides are the inclusion of rock songson the soundtrack (where the music score is good enough) and the campy factor (Jigsaw is dressed in part of the movie in a jacket that makes him look like a circus freak reject from SGt. Peppers Lonely Heart Band). The Punisher starts to feel a little guilty after accidentally killing an undercover FBI agent and may hang up his quest to punish the bad guys after he deals with Jigsaw. The script has lot of promising ideas, but it lacks in a few areas like proper character development, The Punisher not getting a proper equal to fight against, and the camp factor. I am a toal fan of the Punisher character and yet the movie just turned out bad. IRON MAN and INCREDIBLE HULK are the better movies from Marvel this year while PUNISHER: WAR ZONE deserves to be punished for a bad a script.
