PRINCESS PROTECTION PROGRAM is a decent and fun predictable Disney Channel film.   I am happy it is presented in 1.78:1 on DVD.   The film is about friendship and finding your innner self (one finds her inner princess while the princess learns to a normal person like she wasn't a princess and yet showing her princess personality).   The film revolves around Rosie (Demi Lovato)- a princess who must feel her island country of Costa Luna when a two-dimensional stock evil general takes over the country.   She is put into the Princess Protection Program and is sent to Louisana where she leaves with her protector and his tomboy daughter Carter (Selena Gomez).  Rosie must learn to be an ordinary girl while she teaches Carter to find her inner princess.   PRINCESS PROTECTION PROGRAM is several steps up from HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL (which I find unwatchable).   It is charming and funny with two good leads despite the cliched plot that has bene told sveral times over in other high school movies.  You have the not nice teenage girl who thinks she will be Homecoming Queen while somehow Rosie and Carter end up being nominated for Homecoming Princess.  Meanwhile, evil General searches for Rosie as he needs to squash hope.  Then you have a surprise ending that is more cliched.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
Two featurettes- ROYAL & LOYAL BFFs where Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato talk about their real-life friendship while talking about the making of the film.  A ROYAL REALITY has a real life princess talk about the realities of being a princess.   Rounding out the extras is a music video.

FINALA ANALYSIS;  PRINCESS PROTECTION PROGRAM is a fun and predictable film.   Some girls will love it.
