A group of disillusioned men (a barrister, an office worker, a security guard, and a college student) led by Bryant (Sean Bean)- a former paratrooper returned from Iraq- take to the streets to go after the bad guys with their own brand of justice. the media dub them the Outlaw Gang. A cop (Bob Hoskins) gives out information on the members of the Manning crime gang. Bryant's posse is a group that is tired of people being run over by criminals.

OUTLAW is a dark revenge thriller from writer/ director Nick Love. It questions the system and whether people have the right to take justice in their own hands when the system fails. The directing and editing make OUTLAW rough and violent film that sucks you into it's world. Some people may find the subjects hard to deal with, but many of us wonder what can we do when the criminals disregard the law even when they are on trial. The police sees the Outlaw Gang as just criminals that need to be taken down. However, they stand up and are fed up. They made their choice and now of the gang are turning back.

SPECIAL FEATURES: Nick Love and actor Danny Dyer provide an audio commentary for the film. OUTLAW VIDEO DIARIES is selection of behind-the-scenes material and interviews originally presented on the OUTLAW web site. THE MAKING OF OUTLAW is a 31 minute making of documentary split up into six chapters with the Post-production and Press and Publicity parts being the most interesting. BIG HITTERS focuses on the background extras in OUTLAW.

Nine deleted scenes cut for pacing (with two repeating to a cut subplot of the film) in addition to THE RAVE AND THE RIOT which shows even more deleted scenes (with behind-the-scenes footage included before the scenes and why it was cut).

FINAL ANALYSIS: OUTLAW is an engaging revenge thriller that questions the nature of justice and whether we should take it into our own hands. this DVD review is (c)3-24-2008 David Blackwell and cannot be reprinted without permission. send all comments to lord_pragmagtic@hotmail.com
