JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH is one fo the first films to be filmed in the new 3D technology. It is inspired by the Jules Verne novel. The premise follows Trevor (Brendan Fraser) who seeks answers to what happened to his brother who disappeared years ago. He takes his nephew Sean along with him on a trip to Iceland where they hook up with mountain climber Hannah. Hannah's father and Trevor's brother Max believed the book by Jules Verne was true. Soon the three of them find themselves at the center of the Earth and a race against time following the places that were in the book to get out before everything becomes too hot. They must brave man-eating plants, carnivore fish, and a T-Rex to get home.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH will probably impress people even more if they saw it in 3D. I saw it on a regular screen. It's not bad a for a harmless adventure film that is suitable for the whole family. The story is simple and entertaining enough given I had low expectations about the film. I had fun and enjoyed it. The vuisuals of Iceland and the center of the Earth (created partrly by CGI) is very impressive. If you miss it in theaters, rent the DVD. If you can't wait for THE MUMMY film, get your fill of Bredan Fraser now.
