THE HITCHER
Mini-DVD Review by David Blackwell

DTEAILS: 84 minutes, deleted scenes, featurettes
VIDEO: 2.40:1 (Anamorphic Widescreen)
AUDIO: English 5.1 Dolby Digital
Subtitles: English, French, Spanish

STUDIO: Rogue Pictures
RELEASE DATE: 5-1-2007

I love the original version of THE HITCHER. The remake does so many things wrong. Seamn Bean is the best thing about the remake, but he doesn't deliver like rutger Hauer did with the role of John Ryder. Also throwing in a college love story of a cute couple who looked like they would shop at some trendy clothes place like J-Crew or The Buckle. The male in the couple just got my nerves and I was glad when Ryder finally kills the jerk. Sophia Bush can't do much with the horrible script.

The DVD has 20 minutes of deleted scenes which feature some interesting alternate takes on the hotel sequence and an alternate ending which is shorter than what ended up on screen. The featurettes are mostly promo fluff which can be skipped.

FINAL ANALYSIS: THE HITCHER remake is to be skipped. watch the original instead.
