BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT
DVD Review by David Blackwell

DETAILS: 76 minutes, audio commentary, Wonder Woman sneak peek featurette, trailers
VIDEO: 1.78:1 (Anamorphic Widescreen)
AUDIO/ Subtitles: English Spanish, Portoguese, Thai, Japanese

STUDIO: Warner Home Video/ Warner Prmiere/ DC Universe/ Warner Bros. Animation
RELEASE DATE: 7-7-2008

BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT is the latest in a series of DVD tie-ins to theatrical films. GOTHAM KINGHT is a series of six interconnected stories due in anime style. The first story is a miss and some of the animation is hit-and-miss depending on which story you're watching while other animation is very eye-popping animation from the Japanese. The movie does get better as it goes along. It is meant to build even more interest for BATMAN fans who are eager to see THE DARK KNIGHT.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
I have the one disc. It has an audio commentary with Kevin Conroy, Dennis O'Neil, and Gregory Noveck. Kevin Conroy (the voice of animated Batman) rules the track with his entertaining stories.

The sneak peek at the WONDER WOMAN animated film is a tease with behind-the-scnes interviews, rough animation, voice acting recording, and character art. The WONDER WOMAN animated film will be one to check out in Spring 2009. Rounding out the extras are three trailers (THE DARK KNIGHT and JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH being two of them).

FINAL ANALYSIS: BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT overall isn't bad despite my dislike for the first story. A anime film with one feature length story by one of the better animators in this film would have been even better.
