GALAXY QUEST is a classic that in a way a satire of Star Trek while at the same time respecting Trek and the fandom.   GALAXY QUEST follows the actors of a long cancelled sci-fi TV show (that is like Star Trek) who are burned out by making appearances when they get the chance of a lifetime which leads to a real sci-fi adventure in outer space.   The cast is perfect in their roles.  However, Alan Rickman steals the scene from Time Allen every single time.   The special effects are top notch and some of the new STAR TREK film even reminds me of this film at some points when I saw the new Trek.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS: THE STORY OF GALAXY QUEST-  the cast and crew talk about how the film got made
NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER: THE INTREPID CREW OF THE NSEA PROTECTOR-   the cast and producers discuss how they were cats and how they played their characters.
BY GRABTHAR'S HAMMER, WHAT AMAZING EFFECTS-   a brief and yet neat featurette on the visual effects of GALAXY QUEST
ALIEN SCHOOL: THE THERMIAN RACE-   a look at what went into creating this alien race and it was interesting to know the actors came up with the Thermian language.
ACTORS IN SPACE-

SIGOURNEY WEAVER RAPS is a brief video brithday card for her agent.
The deleted scenes are funny, but I love the one where they show the quarters for Alan Rickman's character the best.  The scene steaqling stuff by Alan Rickman stands out the most in these deleted scenes.

Rounding out the extras are the original theatrical trailer and a Thermian audio track for the film.

FINAL ANALYSIS:    I love GALAXY QUEST.   The film never wears out it's welcome.  The deleted scenes are the best extra while the featurettes aren't too bad for one watch.
