Season six of CSI: MIAMI continues to develop the characters further. It is the part I remember more than specific stories.
Horatio discovers he has a son and has to deal with his son's mother. His unexpected return to Brazil is just an excuse
to see Horatio blow away bad guys. Calleigh is kidnapped and almost has her career ruined by a web site. Delco suffers from
his brain injury while another member of the team leaves near the end of season 6. The cliffhanger makes me want to know
what happens next in season 7. CSI: MIAMI is more action based and the attitude of Horaito Caine makes me wonder if this
crime show isn't like a Westren given how Caine and his team draw their guns (and sometimes use them). Caine isn't afraid
to dispatch bad guys. He has his own kind of justice when he has to use his gun.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
Two audio commentaries were recorded-
PERMANENT VACATION by Eagle Egilsson, Barry O'Brien, and Krystal Houghton
RAISING CAINE by actors Elizabeth Berkley and Rex Linn
I wish there were more commentaries on this set and for some of the other episodes besides these two.
Four featurettes on disc six:
FOUR-SIGHT: DIRECTING CSI: MIAMI- a look at four of the show's directors for season six and their directing styles: Sam Hill
(started as 1st Assistant Director), Matt earl Beesley (another 1st A.D.), earle Egilsson (was the director of photography),
and Gina Lamar (in charge of post-production).
PLAYING DEAD- make-up for actors playing the murder victims. playing dead isn't as easy as it looks.
THE REAL WOMEN OF THE MDPD- women in the Miami-Dade Police Department (divers, K-9 officer), a look at the one week program
for enhancing fighting skills for female police officers in the MDPD
ANALYZING SEASON 6- character development in season six for the main characters and how it grew out of season six
FINAL ANALYSIS: CSI: MIAMI continues to distinguish itself as more of an action CSI in it's sixth season. The featurettes
aren't bad, but I wish more behind-the-scenes material was included and more audio commentaries.
