BURN AFTER READING is another odd and quirky comedy from The Cohen Brothers. The most disturbing and funny moment is the reveal of the rocking dildo chair that Harry (George Clooney) has built for his wife. BURN AFTER READING is a dark spy comedy that revolves around an ex-CIA agent's memoirs that end up in the hands of two dim-witted employees (Linda and Chad) at Hard Bodies Gym. They try to sell back to the asshole ex-agent Osborne Cox (John Malkovich). Osborne's life has gone to the crapper as his wife is having an affair with Harry (who in turn starts a relationship with Linda). Linda wants operations to pay for plastic surgery. The CIA looks on with a "who cares?" attitude and clean up whatever mess that happens during BURN AFTER READING. The government attitude is so funny that it feels like it could really happen. George Clooney is great in this film, but Brad Pitt's performance as Chad steals the movie with each scene he is in. Watching this film unfold made me want to revisit another Cohen Brothers' film, THE BIG LEBOWSKI. It was interesting to see who was watching Harry and how it figures into everything.
