Imagine if you mixed the satire of ROBOCOP with a film directed by Shiyna Tsukamoto, then you partly get part of the idea of what TOKYO GORE POLICE will be like. It has over-the-top gore. The film is even a commentary on the things affecting Japanese society like suicide and teen cutting (through the use of fake commercials).

It takes place in near future Tokyo where the Japanes police has been privatized and the police is at war with mutated human beings called Engineers. The psychotic genetically modified Enginners are able to bio-fuse their open wounds with weapons, turning self-mutilation into a combat form. Ruka, the daughter of a murdered police chief, is now the top Engineer Hunter for the tokyo Police Corporation. She still keeps here mind on doing her job even after she learns the truth about her father's murder from the insane Engineer leader. TOKYO GORE POLICE is the weirdest and most bizarre film I have seen this year and any other film this year will have to be pretty out there to top this Japanese film.
