STARRING David Duchovny (Ben), Lili Taylor (Hannah), Olivia Thirlby (Sam/ Hannah)
DIRECTED by Vincent Perez

THE SECRET is a well-done film. It walks the fine line that could send the film into comedy or into perversity. Ben (Duchovny) loses his wife Hannah (Taylor) to a car accident, but somehow Hannah has ended up in his daughter Sam's body. Sam was in the accident and somewhere she is asleep inside her body. Ben tells Hannah to live Sam's life until Sam comes back. Hannah learns many things that she didn't know about her daughter as Ben drinks more and gets jealous. Duchovny is good in this film, but Olivia Thirlby shines in the dual role of mother-daughter in one body. The film handles the story in the right way.

SPECIAL FEATURES: The original theatrical trailer is on the disc in addition to eight boring minutes of Behind-The-Scenes footage which should have been edited together with the interviews for David Duchovny, Lili Taylor, and Olivia Thirlby. Taylor's interview is boring, but David and Olivia are interesting to hear what they say.

FINAL ANALYSIS: THE SECRET walks the line and comes out as a great surprise.
