FRIDAY THE 13TH The series is one of those syndication TV series that lasted for three years and used the name of a horror movie series just like POLTERGEIST: THE LEGACY did years later. Each series only had the name in common with their movie counterparts. The first was just OK while the second one was better at being a series. FRIDAY THE 13TH the series revolves around two cousins who inherit a cursed antinques shop (Curious Goods) from their Uncle Lewis (R.G. Armstrong) who went to Hell after he tried to go back on the deal he made with The Devil.

Strong points of the series are the music by Fred Mollin (whose music would better service FOREVER KNIGHT later on) and actress (Louise) Robey. Actress Catherine Disher guest stars DOUBLE EXPOSURE that has a character named Winston Knight (she would later be in FOREVER KNIGHT which had a character named Nick Knight). The show does have it's strongest episodes when it tries to develop the main characters and involve Uncle Lewis in the stories (through flashback or ghost). It just gets tiring when it becomes too much of the hunt for the cursed object and people die plots that keep recurring episode after episode.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
The two original network launch promos are lame. Better still is the sales presentation which features clip summaries of episodes featured on disc 2.

FINAL ANALYSIS: FRIDAY THE 13TH is better in small does where watching too many episodes in a row make you see how too formulaic the show actually is. I hope season 2 and 3 are better.
