MGM may bill this as CAGNEY AND LACEY: THE TRUE BEGINNING, but it isn't the complete first season. They didn't include the pilot movie (Christine Swift as Detective Christine Cagney) and the first six episodes (Meg Foster as Cagney).  I hope they correct this error and include them as an extra on season 2 (or as a stand alone release).   CAGNEY AND LACEY was the prototype for all those Lifetime women cop dramas.  It tackled issues and showed how women worked in the job force as cops with lives.    It's not my type of show, but I do feel for the fans when a DVD isn't the complete deal.  It has happened before when Universal released THE ROCKFORD FILES (but they did include the pilot finally on season 2 after it's absence on season 2).

Great cover art for this set.  Shame on the double sided discs, but that is the cost if they want to have teh sets out for a lower price for consumers.  The only extra is a two part featurette- BREAKING THE LAWS OF TV which includes interviews with cast and crew.  I'm surprised Carl Lumbly was part of the cast (I best know him for his role on ALIAS).  Hopefully, MGM will include audio commentaries on future sets and get the first episodes to disc.
