QUID PRO QUO is an interesting and yet understated film that addresses the subculture formed by people with Body Integrity Identity Disorder. Nick Stahl is Isaac Knott, a wheelchair bound radio reporter, who looks into the subculture of people who have BIID and want to be in a wheelchair. He meets the mysterious and alluring Fiona (Vera Farmiga) who has BIID. They become attracted to each other and Nick discovers he can walk again when he puts on a certain pair of shoes (or is there more to it).

QUID PRO QUO is a solid film that held my attention. It never went into horror film territory (which would be easy to do). It is about two people (one who wants to be in a wheelchair and the other who wants to be out of it).

SPECIAL FEATURES:
A ten minute excerpt from the documentary WHOLE looks at people with Body Integrity Identity Disorder and some of those who have succeeded in getting themselves handicapped.

The Tulip Montage is all of the Tulip footage in the film. The deleted scenes feature three scenes with Isaac's ex that were cut from the film (and would have taken the end in a different direction). The audition tapes with Nick Stahl and Vera Farmiga are boring. Storyboards are also included.

FINAL ANALYSIS: QUID PRO QUO is an intriguing drama that takes you into a pair of compelling characters and a subculture I have never heard of. Too bad the disc didn't have a making of featurette or an audio commentary.
