The holiday season brings any great DVDs out for the end of the year. Whether you’re buying for or after Christmas,
a lot is up for offer.
Walt Disney Home Entertainment presents their latest wave of DISNEY TREASURS with DR SYN ALIAS THE SCARECROW (DVD review can
be found on the main site), another volume of Donald Duck cartoons (find out the history of the Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge
comics), and . Also season 2 of KYLE XY and GREEK are up for offer (after Christmas). WALL-E and the SANTA CLAUS trilogy
are on standby for family fun (WALL-E is the better of the two). Don’t forget PRINCE CASPIAN.
Warner Bros. Home video offers up the what will be the biggest selling DVD of the season- THE DARK KNIGHT. However, an overpriced
set for I AM LEGEND prevents the movie from being a good double-dip despite a disc of new extras and an audio commentary.
The two and three disc sets from Universal provide enough power for fantasy action fans in the form of HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN
ARMY, THE INCREDIBLE HULK, WANTED, and THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR. 20th Century Fox is also in with their three-disc
release of THE X-FILES; I WANT TO BELIVE (the second disc having a feature length documentary on the making of the sequel).
The start of the next provide many TV on DVD releases like BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Season 4.0 (1/6), THE TUDORS Season 2 (1/6),
BREAKING BAD Season 1 (Feb 2009), CANTEBURY’S LAW (also in 2/2009), MI-5 Season 6 (1/23), WAKING THE DEAD Season 3 (1/23),
THE INVADERS Season 2 (1/23), and MOONLIGHT (1/23).
